'Skyfall' is UK's biggest movie of 2012

Skyfall eclipses Dark Knight Rises to become UK's biggest movie of 2012

Skyfall has become the biggest movie of 2012 in the UK.
Daniel Craig's newest James Bond outing, arriving on the franchise's 50th year, has earned £57 million after 12 days on release.

The total has already eclipsed the £56.2 million earned by The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers' £51.6 million box office haul.
Skyfall has also surpassed the James Bond box office record held by Casino Royale, which achieved a £55.6 million gross in 2006.
007 series producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said of the achievement: "We are thrilled and proud to reach this box office landmark in record time and are delighted that UK audiences continue to enjoy Skyfall."
Skyfall is currently sitting at the top of the UK box office chart and will debut across the US tomorrow (November 9).

'Johnny English Reborn' retains UK box office top spot

Johnny English Reborn has topped the UK box office for the second consecutive weekend.

Despite big new releases in the form of The Three Musketeers 3D and Hugh Jackman's Real Steel, both Rowan Atkinson's spy spoof and the re-release of The Lion King hold onto the top two spots.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy rounds out the top five, while the remake of '80s classic Footloose trails behind at number six.

Family movie Dolphin Tale lands at number seven ahead of Woody Allen's latest comedy Midnight in Paris.

Elsewhere, Taylor Lautner's Abduction plummets sharply from last week's fourth spot to chart outside the top ten.
